We had a wonderful presentation for the Boys and Girl’s Club of Tucson out at the Pasqua Yaqui Clubhouse this afternoon! The kids were very attentive and loved having the chance to see all of the ocean artifacts up close! The shark jaws always grab attention but today, a lot of the kids REALLY looked at the jaws…  the design and make of the jaws! There were great question being asked and the art work was amazing! I really appreciated that all of the kids at the clubhouse participated and all of the staff as well! Loved seeing the adults looking at the shells and teeth just as much as the kids! Never too late to start loving the ocean!

fun art projects!

Great presentation today! We love going to the clubhouses around Tucson, bringing ocean awareness to kids who may not get to see much of it in their everyday lives! We had some talented artists working hard on their renditions of various marine life including sharks, snails, and turtles! The time flies by when we are at these presentations and before you know it, an hour has passed by! Hopefully we can create some more presentations where we can do more and more ocean artwork! Seems like a great way to get kids appreciating the wonders of the sea!

We had a great day at our presentation! The kids had a blast and learned all about the ocean! Love seeing their eyes when the whale bones are brought out! The kids asked all sorts of questions! Loved their energy and enthusiasm! No wonder I always feel like a kid after I leave these presentations! I am looking forward to working with the older kids soon, but honestly… the 7-11 year olds are soo much fun! Thanks again to Michael Schrantz for volunteering at the presentation!

Desert Dolphins Monthly Meeting- Shark Presentation

  • Desert Dolphins Meeting at El Parador Restuarant
  • All ages, open meeting
  • Shark presentation, Fin Foundation overview

resize-wizard-2Just returned from a wonderful meal and meeting with The Desert Dolphins Scuba Club here in Tucson! This organization has been around for nearly 50 years and continues to draw in divers from all over the southern Arizona region! Obviously these people were interested in ocean life and had great enthusiasm as we talked about sharks, conservation and the Fin Foundation. Many wonderful stories were shared about diving with sharks and other ocean creatures! Amazing group of people! I think many will start giving some of their time and photographs to our cause! AND spread the word about what we do! And help support us if they can! It was a great night! Thank you Desert Dolphins!

Just back from the BGCT Jim and Vicky Click Clubhouse and had a great experience! Lots of curious kids asking loads of questions and having fun doing our summer art project! It amazes me again and again when these kids who may never have seen the ocean before can connect with seeing a sea turtle shell or giant sea shell! Every child left with a smile on their face

and a greater appreciation for our oceans! This is our third clubhouse and it just keeps getting better with each presentation! Three more to go before we work on another schedule for the regular school year!
