exploring the oceans wonders!

Great day doing presentations at the “J” camp! We had 4 groups come in with about 40 kids each time so it was a busy day! The instructors were great! We were able to keep all of the kids interested and excited the whole time I think! Loads of questions were asked and a bunch of stories were told! The kids really enjoyed seeing the Great White Shark Jaw and the whale bones! We had the new banner up and I hope the kids saw it enough where they will remember who we were! And I hope they will remember to recycle their plastic water bottles to help save the turtles!

One of the classes learning about our oceans!

A GREAT group!

Thanks to Jaime  and Scott for contacting us and helping to get everything arranged! It was great and we look forward to returning sometime soon!

seastars, not starfish... 🙂

Great group of kids and volunteers today! Love working with small groups of kids where everyone gets the chance to ask questions and tell stories! The group today had so much energy but still were well mannered and polite! So much fun! The kids always seem to be shocked that their water bottles may be causing sea turtles trouble and hopefully that leads them to recycle or change to reusable water bottles! Lots of thanks to the City of Tucson for having us be a part of Kidco! And thanks to Michael Schwartz and Adrean Cardone for helping out with today’s presentation!

We had a wonderful presentation for the Boys and Girl’s Club of Tucson out at the Pasqua Yaqui Clubhouse this afternoon! The kids were very attentive and loved having the chance to see all of the ocean artifacts up close! The shark jaws always grab attention but today, a lot of the kids REALLY looked at the jaws…  the design and make of the jaws! There were great question being asked and the art work was amazing! I really appreciated that all of the kids at the clubhouse participated and all of the staff as well! Loved seeing the adults looking at the shells and teeth just as much as the kids! Never too late to start loving the ocean!

fun art projects!

Great presentation today! We love going to the clubhouses around Tucson, bringing ocean awareness to kids who may not get to see much of it in their everyday lives! We had some talented artists working hard on their renditions of various marine life including sharks, snails, and turtles! The time flies by when we are at these presentations and before you know it, an hour has passed by! Hopefully we can create some more presentations where we can do more and more ocean artwork! Seems like a great way to get kids appreciating the wonders of the sea!

We had a great day at our presentation! The kids had a blast and learned all about the ocean! Love seeing their eyes when the whale bones are brought out! The kids asked all sorts of questions! Loved their energy and enthusiasm! No wonder I always feel like a kid after I leave these presentations! I am looking forward to working with the older kids soon, but honestly… the 7-11 year olds are soo much fun! Thanks again to Michael Schrantz for volunteering at the presentation!
