Love doing presentations at First Pres! The staff and the students are all just amazing! More than worth the drive to El Paso! We started off with the little ones first then the older group joined in after about 30 minutes! The kids all learned about all sorts of different marine animals and we were able to talk about conservation/ recycling! These kids are gonna make a difference to the health of our planet someday soon! We had extra help from Zack D. who managed to show the younger kids the shark jaws and some of the whale bones! Thanks buddy! Looking forward to coming back soon!

Great News for the Fin Foundation!!!!

We have some GREAT NEWS! We have begun a partnership in education with UA Science: Flaundrau (formerly The Flandrau Science Center)! One of the great aspects of this partnership is that we will have an office on the UA campus now in the lower level of the science center! There is a full classroom and wet lab joined to the office that will allow for training sessions and use of multiple aquariums! There will be a 250 gallon saltwater aquarium there for all to see! This is a great leap forward for us! Looking forward to getting in there and using all the new resources to help teach marine science in the desert!

This was a great presentation for me! Dr. Thomson (Honorary Board Member for the Fin Foundation and dear friend of mine), his wife and son Kurt were on hand as we presented to the 3rd graders! Kurt’s son Sean is in one of the classes so it was kind of a big day! The students all seemed to get a kick out of learning about the oceans and in seeing all the artifacts that we brought in! The teachers have done a great job getting their kids tuned into science at this school! Looking forward to coming back next year!

Special thanks to my Mom and Brother who went out of their way to help at this presentation! Couldn’t have made it without you both!

Great time at Hollinger eventhough we had a fire drill to start out the day! The kinders are so much fun, and so bright too! I think they asked some of the best questions ever! I was really impressed by one little girl who asked about the oil spill going on and why we needed to get oil from under the ocean and how we do that! I hope I managed to clarify that for her and that she continues to be so in touch with the environment and our amazing oceans!
