I especialy liked the shark bones and jaws. I was kinda afraid of sharks but after what you said i realised that sharks are just big fish. Thank you for coming to ACES to teach the 6th grade classes about marine biology. I really like it when you put your had on Gabe’s face and made him have a spaz attack. I also like it when you put the snail shell on Dani’s head when she had her eyes closed. That was really cool that you actually have real shark jaws from the ocean. Thanks for telling us that the reason why Bethany Hamilton got her arm bit off by a shark was that she looked like a seal.

    sincerely,
    Cassidy
    and

    Dear Mr.Pipes
I told my mom about how big one rib from a whale was, and she thought I was crazy. That was awesome for you to come. My friend and I are going to make a lemonade stand and give the money we make to the Humane Society
to help animals that are being abused. You inspired me to do that. Thanks once again. ~Zoe

  13. Sam says:

Hey, Mr.Pipes thanks for coming to our school and speaking to us about the ocean. Now, I am bugging my dad day and night about how there will be no more polar bears in the wild. He said that there was nothing we could do but reuse, reduce, and recycle. But I think that we all can do a little more like clean up the beaches so the plastic bottles on the beach don’t flow into the ocean. Plus, I think that we could raise awareness by painting birds or sea life then we could sell them and donate the money to helping the animals of the ocean to live in a more safe environment. So, I need to thank you for raising awareness in our school!

  14. kirsten says:

Thank you so much for coming. you were really funny. I learned a lot like by the time we are in our 40s that most of the animals that are endangered today will be long gone like polar bears and sharks EX. I also learned that star fish are not called star fish they are called sea stars. Thank you for coming to our school I had a great time

    Sincerely,
    Kirsten

Thank you so much for coming in and telling us about the ocean and other ocean animals. I have leaned so much more about the ocean and ocean animals like the sponges in the ocean that are alive I didn’t even know there were alive sponges in the ocean. That’s so cool that you got to swim with the sharks. That was very sad when that person shot that sea turtle. Thank you again for coming in and teaching us about the ocean and ocean animals

P.S. YOU ARE SO FUNNY! ALSO SO AWESOME

  17. Chase says:

    Dear, mr pipes
I did not know that snails made the shells that crabs use, I thought it was cool that you took your time to teach us about the ocean. I learnend a lot than you for coming!!

  19. Loudon and Ryan says:

Thank you so much for coming to our school and teaching us about marine biology. I enjoyed and learned lots of facts about marine life and their habitats. I never knew that a giant squids eye is the size of a basketball!!! The giant snail shell left us astonished by its size. Thank you so much once again I hope to see you around the U of A sometime 🙂

  20. Ari says:

thank you so much for coming to our school I had lots of fun. It was so funny when you slammed your hand into Gabe’s face. that one snail shell was HUGE. Its kind of scary thinking that whales and polar bears are going to be extinct soon. Last year I did a report on the Leatherback sea turtle and most of them die because of eating plastic bags because they think that the bags are jellyfish I had a lot of fun it was so cool learning about all the animals i really enjoyed learning about the sea turtles. I can’t believe that poachers can kill such beautiful animals it is just horrible. When I grow up I’m going to help protect sea life when I grow up (of course I’ll protect land animals as well) learning about the sea stars and how they eat is really cool. that whale rib was so big that was also really cool. I had a lot of fun and i wish you could come back and teach us more. ARI

  21. Ryan says:

thank you Mr.Pipes for showing us the shark jaws and the narwhal horn. Also thanks for showing us the sponges, fossilized shark teeth, and coming to our school.

  22. Shay and Emma says:

    Dear Mr.Pipes,
Thank you so much for visiting our school. I learned so much! Like sea star not star fish because its not a fish. How they eat them throwing up there stomach then they have to suck it back up into their bodies. And also how whales vertebrae are huge compared to humans.
    Sincerely, Shay
    Dear Mr.Pipes
thank you for coming to our school. I learned alot. Like i never knew that sea shells are made from snails and that fish open their mouths to determine who’s the alpha fish
    Sincerely, Emma

  23. Dan says:

    Dear Mr. Pipes,

Thank you for coming to ACES and educating us. I learned a lot about marine animals that I didn’t know even existed. You were very energetic. You have inspired me to save the planet and save the animals. now I have convinced my family to save the planet and now it has caused a ripple effect.

    Your friend,
    Dan

    Yours truly,
    Sydni

    Dear Mr.Pipes,
Thank you for coming to our school. I really liked how you explianed that coconut tree and coco cola are more harmful than sharks. I didnt know that. I learned a lot like that starfish arn’t called that they are called sea star and the same thing with jelly fish arn’t called that they are called sea jelly. Thank you agian for coming and teaching us about marine life.
    Sincerly,
    Brynna

  36. Clay says:

Thank you for coming to my school. I really liked when you showed us that whale rib, i wondered what the entire whale skeleton looked like, I though it was cool when you showed us the turtle shell. I thought it was funny when you grabbed Gabes face.

  37. Kasey says:

Thanks so much for coming to our classes! You made the SEASTAR not starfish haha eat my head ewwwwww. I will remember that moment for a long time or my entire life. That was a great way for us to learn about the ocean. I was petrified of the ocean until now. I’m sure that a bunch of kids thought the exact same thing as they left the room that day. It was so funny when u shoved your hand in Gabes face and said that you were the biggest kid in the room. All the hands on learning helped all the kids including myself stay intrested in the ocean.

    P.S.
You stepped on my friends hand. She thought it was funny that it didn’t hurt very bad. You are soooooooooooo funny! 🙂

  38. gabriel says:

    Dear Mr. Pipes,
Thank you so much for coming to our school. I liked the comparisons you used about soda machines killing more people than sharks. I laughed so hard when you shoved your hand over Bailey’s face and when you told me not to lick the sponge and the lobster claw. I learned so much cool stuff and I hope you come back next year for the future 6th grade class.

Mr.Pipes the presentation you gave was so cool I’ve always admired starfish, oops, sea stars it was so interesting to learn about how a shark looks at the shadow from above and can mistake surfers for seal. The sponges were amazing and when you told us about the shell that shoots darts and can kill you in two miunents i would of never guessed! when you showed us the shark jaw i thought that they must of have millions of teeth but no they only have three sets of teeth which in my oppion since i’m still afraid of sharks are three sets to many I’m also amazed of the shells you showed us I have never seen so many neat shells
Thank you so much for coming and visiting us I really hope that people stop polluting so we can save our oceans and the ocean wildlife
