Going to Gridley has become a regular event! We love this school! We spoke to a fun class today! Their teacher is a big ocean advocate even though she doesn’t teach science! I consider it an honor to be asked to come into a math class! I hope the students enjoyed the break from numbers! They were all very enthusiastic and asked great questions!

Reid Park Zoo Polar Bear Day Event !!!

Come join The Fin Foundation as we celebrate Polar Bear Day at Reid Park Zoo! It will be a small celebration but a great chance to learn about these amazing animals and MAYBE see a new polar bear!

We had a fantastic day out at Reid Park Zoo! The Fin Foundation was able to help welcome our new Polar Bear (snow) to Tucson! We had the Coca-Cola Company out as well – did you know they have been using a polar bear as their mascot for over 100 years?- and had our polar bear and one of their polar bear statues out for all to see! We were all impressed by how playful Snow was and by how much she loved her new exhibit! She rolled in the grass and mud, then splashed in the waterfall and her pool! I think she will be super happy there!

The Fin Foundation returned to Desert Willow Elementary school for another great presentation! We love creating a great relationship with a school where we return each year to share our love of the ocean! This group was really fun, curious and enthusiastic! We had some many follow up questions at the end of the day that I’m sure we could have stayed another hour just answering them! Look forward to coming back again soon!

The Fin Foundation had a fun morning with the kids at Ascension Lutheran school! The class size was small enough where we could all have lots of time with the artifacts, ask questions, and really explore the ocean! Its such a great feeling watching the students “ooohhh” and “aaahhh” as new items are pulled out from the cases for them to see! Great school and we hope to be invited back again next year!

Math Science and Technology FUNFEST – Educational Booth

The Fin Foundation Education Booth with Artifacts!

Join The Fin Foundation at the FUNFEST where we will have our educational booth up and all of our artifacts on display for kids and adults alike to learn about our amazing oceans! All sorts of organizations will be at the FUNFEST conducting seminars, programs, demonstrations and more! Should be great fun!

We had a blast at the fair! Brian and Chanelle joined the Fin Foundation at our booth for a great morning of sharing sharks! We had lots of great information available for the participants and had the time to talk to lots of kids about their love/fear of sharks! Hopefully, we helped to change it to a love/love of sharks! And we were happy to see lots of faces of teachers and students from schools we have presented to! Its a great science community!
