Pueblo High School – “Our Amazing Oceans!”

“Our Amazing Oceans!”

The Fin Foundation spoke to a group of high school students today at Pueblo High! The small group of exceptional education students were amazing! The students were engaging, kind, and helpful! They asked lots of questions as we went through the various animals found in the ocean! We enjoy coming out to the high schools and getting the chance to reach some of the older students in our community! We hope to come back to Pueblo soon!

Cottonwood Elementary Preschool – “Our Amazing Oceans!”

We love presenting to younger children and Cottonwood reminded us why! The children were so excited to have us at their school, sharing the ocean with them, and just having a fun morning! The kids were focused and we kept their attention for the whole hour (not always an easy task when working with 3 year olds!) The Fin Foundation is committed to teaching kids starting at this age the importance of our oceans! we look forward to coming back next year!

Grace Community Church Homeschool Science club (Quest)- “Our Amazing Oceans!”

“Our Amazing Oceans!”

What a wonderful experience! Our first time presenting to a home school organization and it was AWESOME! We had a large group of students attend at Grace Community Church where The Fin Foundation was able to share information about the ocean, pass around artifacts, and discuss questions that the students had regarding marine life and conservation issues! All of the students were really alert and well mannered! And we had a great compliment when one of the parents came up to us afterwards and said she had had brought a book to read while her child attended the presentation but that she never read any of it because we were much more interesting! 🙂 We look forward to future presentations with this group!

Tanque Verde Elementary School -“Our Amazing Oceans!”

120 students – 4th grade through 6th grade
“Our Amazing Oceans!”

What a wonderful day out at Tanque Verde Elementary School (that started off with snow falling on us as we unloaded the truck!) Hanging out with the 6th graders was so much fun! We talked all about different creatures found in our oceans and had the chance to show our great ocean artifacts! we could have stayed and talked all day! Looking forward to coming back soon!

Reid Park Zoo “Winter Lights!” event – The Fin Foundation Education Booth and display

Every Thurs, Fri, and Sat. in December – 6:00 to 8:00pm (and a few extra days as well!)
Reid Park Zoo – Tucson, Az (we will be by the Polar Bear exhibit!)
25,000 people over the month!
The Fin Foundation education booth and display!

Join us as we go into our 3rd year of helping Reid Park Zoo during its Winter Lights Event! We will have our artifacts on display, underwater photos playing on our tv, and our polar bear (and his friends ) dancing and posing for pictures! Be sure to say hello and enjoy the holiday season with us!
