Kiwania’s Club Breakfast Meeting – Foundation WOctober19,2010ork presentation

We met with the members of a local Kiwana’s Club to present an overview of all the work that the Fin Foundation does for the community! It was a great pleasure seeing how committed these people are to helping local youth through their volunteer work! It was wonderful to be able to share what we do with them!

Blenman Elementary School -“Shark School!”

We presented to half of the 4th graders at Blenman Elementary School and had a blast! We included photographs through a powerpoint presentation in addition to using all of our great shark artifacts like fossilized shark teeth, modern shark jaws, and preserved specimen! It was great fun and we look forward to presenting to the 2nd half next week!

Educational Booth- PCC Northwest Campus)ct.13,2010

Join us at the PCC Northwest campus for our education booth (with many other environmental organizations) for the Earth Science Celebration!

We set up our booth, along with many other organizations, and had a blast talking about the ocean and all that the Fin Foundation is doing! We saw loads of people as they walked around the Promenade at PCCNW, and hopefully made some great contacts! We are looking forward to doing it again in April!

Lots of thanks to Lead Volunteer Adrian Cardoni for all his effort and time! Great job!

Laguna Elementary School – ” Shark School!”

We always love coming back to Laguna Elementary! What a great group of students and educators! We had lots of kids from last year who were able to recall so many facts about the ocean! Makes us feel good knowing how much these kids are retaining from our presentations! We managed to add new information to the program this year (they loved the polar bears and penguins!)! We will be back next year for sure!

Flowing Wells Middle School – “Our Amazing Oceans!”

We had a great experience at Flowing Wells Middle School! Mr. Miller’s classes were really attentive and interested in the ocean and all the information we presented! We went on a shortened school day and we didn’t get the chance to show them everything! Maybe we will get invited back for a follow up soon!
